our name says as much about our geographical location as it does about a kind of passionate music that we love and are inspired by.
northern souls is a media production label who work with and look to discover, nurture and develop original ideas and talent.
We co-produce films and cross-platform projects with people who care equally as much about the planet and the people on it, as they do about playing with cinema, formats and storytelling. The soul in Northern Souls is about collaboration, inclusion, diversity and action.
Our evolving slate currently includes the feature and interactive experience LEGACY OF AN INVISIBLE BULLET (dir. Doug Aubrey), creative documentaries THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE (dir. Carina Randløv), IF I DIE TODAY (dir. Camilla Arlien), REMOTE CONTROL (dir. Kassandra Wellendorf), MY EXILED GENERATION (dir. Rania Tawfik) and BACHELORS ONLY (dirs. Lasse Lau & Flo Maak) as well as fiction feature THE MAN ON THE BEACH and co-productions like THE VANISHING (dir. Rama Thiaw). We’re also involved with a number of projects as creative consultants, freelance producer/directors and co-producers. Marie is one of two producers on BALOMANIA (dir. Sissel Dargis Morell), which premiered at CPH:DOX (2024) and has played dozens of festivals since.
Creative producer for 20+ years, former New Danish Screen film consultant and EAVE alumni, Marie works across digital, fiction and documentary.
Doug has been working as a video artist, mentor and documentarist since the 80s. He was the co-creator of production outfit Autonomi as well as artists video legends Pictorial Heroes and Diversity Films.
